An ordinary life....

Let sleeping dogs lie...

We received a text first thing from Alan's support worker Ashleigh saying her little girl had been up during the night being sick and her partner was also feeling queasy, so she thought she better not some to work incase she passed on any sickness bugs.  We agreed!   So, Alan's been stuck with us all day.

David took Lola to the moor for her morning walk dressed for the sunny morning it was when he left the house.  I had just finished drying my hair when I heard a noise that sounded like really heavy rain thundering down outside.  It was!  Oh dear.  I expected two drowned rats to return but thankfully David and Lola were about 200 yards from the car when the rain started, so missed the worst of it!

After lunch David and Alan headed out in the car to do goodness knows what, goodness knows where (apparently it was a need to know basis and being a girl, I didn't need to know) and I had a very industrious afternoon finishing a painting for Nikki's birthday (in extras) as well as researching recipes for Scottish snowballs which I am hoping to make tomorrow to have with coffee when John and Norma visit on Tuesday.

We've not seem them since that blip was taken on 28th December so will be wishing them Happy New Year!!  They were due to come and stay four days after lockdown was announced, so of course that didn't happen.  We have missed them so much and we're really looking forward to seeing them.  Alan is beside himself with excitement, especially when I told him they were staying over so would be here on Wednesday too.

We are belatedly celebrating Norma's birthday from July so please keep your fingers crossed that my snowballs are a success :-)

PS Meant to say, my blip is Lola lying in the hall where she always lies when David goes out.  Normally she lies right next to the door on the mat but it was too warm there today so she moved onto the tiles.  This means she's the first to know when he returns.  Devoted she is!  :-))
