A Hopeful Message

Dear Diary,

I was finally able to spend time with my cousins whom I haven't seen in months and It was so wonderful.  Mary has been making these small cairns since the beginning of the pandemic as a way to find some balance in her life.  Some she writes on, like this one on the steps to my cousin Susie's house on Black Cat Island in New Hampshire.  It reminded me of the famous quote by the 14th century mystic Julian of Norwich.  When she was 6 years old the plague struck her city.  Although she recovered, three quarters of the city died.  Her quote is so appropriate at this time of our "plague"..."all shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well."
