Edinburgh Royal Botanic Garden

At this time of year we make a special effort to visit the Royal Botanic Garden where my favourite shrubs, the Witchhazels, will be in full flower. Although some mature specimens have been removed to make space for a new Alpine house, the Barnstedt Gold continues to flourish by the Queen Mother Memorial Garden.

Most visitors photograph the view from the trees, towards the town; I like the view of the trees, from the Terrace Cafe.
