Return to Llanddwyn

Forecast to be one of the best days this week, Dad and I headed to Newborough to go over to Llanddwyn Island from the end of the beach. Bailey and Mum stayed back at Bryn Cottage as dogs are not allowed onto the island between May and September - not that that stopped one or two people. We knew that high tide was at 10:03 but hadn't quite envisaged the height of wading that would be required half an hour after that. We decided not to get quite that wet and headed back down the beach and into the trees and sand dunes to wait out the tide turning. The wild flowers were a real feature of the walk including the (extra) sea holly amongst the dunes.

We decided to brave the wading across about an hour and a quarter after high tide and 133 shots are indicative of the views. Twr Mawr lighthouse featured four years ago too although there were about 50 shots less that time. Lunch listening to the waves on the beach below the lighthouse and then we walked back to the beach - no wading required this time.

Back to Mum and Bailey who had a much more comfortable wait than last time. I headed into Beaumaris for a couple of things for tea and a recce on a particular shop for a return visit later in the week.
