Exploring the Birks

Drove up to Perthshire, stopping at Loch Leven larder for a coffee and delicious bacon roll sitting on the outdoor benches with our takeaway. As always, gorgeous view and a good place to stop.
On to Aberfeldy and we had a look in the gallery and S bought a couple of pieces in clothes sale, then we headed up the walk through the Birks. Started gently alongside the river and through beautiful trees, with sun glimpsing through and warm enough for a t shirt. The path got pretty steep so was a good stretch. Views of the many waterfalls all the way down the other side were gorgeous (too many photos to choose from!) and we really enjoyed it. Should have done it one of the many times we’ve visited before.
Back down to town for tea and cake at the water mill (shame we couldn’t meet up with Winsford) then checked into hotel to read and relax for a while before dinner.
All the businesses that are open here are kitted out with masks and temperature taking and gallons of sanitiser at every door. Hotel restaurant very busy (not many places open for food here) and service slow...I think they’re overwhelmed with the extra cleaning and numbers of people coming in.
Lovely day.
