Silverdale

I had a few enjoyable visits to Silverdale in good company last year and so always think of it fondly.

When deliberating with the family over what to do with our last day proper day together, I ventured a little wander around the shoreline and a picnic as it is “always sunny in Silverdale”.

Indeed, the sun did break through a little, but for the most part it was masked by cloud and tempered by a cool sea breeze. Regardless, we squeezed in a brief wander, ran along the beach (my parent’s dog unwittingly charging into some sea water she wasn’t quite expecting) and dabbled in the rock pools to see what we could find.

We all marvelled at the speed of which the tide came in and quickly had to move on from the beach area we’d been running on.

Lovely way to spend a couple of hours though and the feeling of vast, wide open space was very welcome.
