The Lozarithm Lens

Caen Hill (Monday 3rd August 2020)

Unsurprisingly, after finishing my grocery shop in Devizes, I went on to Caen Hill. Many of the lock arms were blocking the bridges as CRT staff were busy overseeing boats coming up the flight, and there was a game of football going on behind the pounds. Although both swans were promenading on one of the pounds beside a group of mallards (see Extra) I decided instead to blip this twice-writhen bistort (persicaria bistorta) being utilised by some restful ducks. The swans seem to be having a year off from breeding, unless they choose to have an autumn brood.

With thanks to Miranda1008 for hosting Wild Flower Week.
