Calne (Saturday 3rd August 2019)

There has been a crane over the road from me recently and it was suggested to me as a potential blip. As I was about to go into town I  decided to investigate. It seemed to be in the grounds of St Margaret's School, which I entered via the adjacent St Mary's School car park in search of the most advantageous view. I had no idea the grounds were so extensive and with so many buildings and annexes. There were far more garden areas and plantings than I'd expected as I wandered around with my camera. The first picture I took was of this wildflower patch with some poppies that have somehow survived the recent weather fluctuations. I intended to leave at the far end of the grounds but it turned out that all the exit gates were locked and to get out I had to walk through a private garden and clamber over a fence, so it seems my tour had been unwittingly illicit.
Thanks to Miranda1008 for hosting Wild Flower Week.
