Last day

After a fry up brunch, and some last bits of packing up, we went to Babbacombe. It had been raining overnight, and drizzly this morning, but brightened up at about 1pm. We walked down the steep cliff to the beach where we had a really nice ice cream. The best all holiday as I have been disappointed with the other 2 ice creams last week.

It was a lovely quiet cove with pedalos and other canoes for hire. It seemed as if it would be quite safe. As the weather had been dull, there weren't that many people down there. There was a long queue to catch the cliff side railway back up to the top of the cliff, but we walked back along the cliff then up through the woods.

From there we drove on to a torquay, but literally minutes after paying to park for 3 hours, it started to rain, and became heavy and relentless. We did see this small crowd around Steve Mulhern, recording something for tv. The lady won £1000 and they let off a huge confetti bomb.

We couldn't really escape the rain, or enjoy walking round the 'English Riviera', so soaking wet we headed back to the car.

Drove back to the caravan where we ordered, and then consumed a very nice chinese from Bovey Tracey. Then commenced an epic game of Monopoly. 2 hours 50 minutes and Mollie won, with Josh as partner, ending up with all the money and all the properties. It is Henry's favourite game, so even though he lost, he was pleased that we had eventually relented and played it, and it had been a proper game, played right to the very end!!

The plan is to get up at 6 tomorrow, get 2 wet tents down then on the road, with a stop around 8 for breakfast!

It has been a nice holiday, but we will take our caravan somewhere different next year. Devon isn't as nice as some other places I've visited.

Just got to start planning our next trip....
