Marshalling

... but no troops involved!

After months when volunteering on the railway was not possible, it was good to be back in uniform today.   It appears that furloughed staff may volunteer as long as the work is not that which they would normally be paid for, so today I was a Marshall, a new Covid generated role involving meet, greet and inform the visitors.   The aim is to keep everyone as safe as possible .... and act as friendly traffic warden in our one-way system :-)    All available seats were sold today and from tomorrow an increased service will be on offer, four trains a day, now that we are happy with our new procedures.

A treat this evening.  Jamie and I went to the Drive-In Cinema, set up by The Magic Lantern (Tywyn's Cinema) in a field below the railway's Abergynolwyn station.  We saw Black Panther, the sound broadcast on FM through the car radio.  Brilliant fun!
