My parents are up north this week visiting their second home for the first time in months.
I’m so used to them being a long distance away that it has been nice having them just down the road for the last few days. They continue to be unshakable with their love and support, I really don’t know what I would do without them.
They popped over with some wine, cheese and biscuits last night, which we munched whilst we had a proper, uninterrupted catchup - as much as I love my children, it is hard to hold a proper conversation with them around!
The photo isn’t the best, but it’s real and unposed and also captures their dog; Gucci, ever hopeful for some scraps.
Now looking forward to dinner out with a friend on Thursday, though we’ve skilfully avoided the government “Eat out” voucher nights, I’m thinking this is a small price to pay for good company and yet another night this week that I don’t have to cook.
I could get used to this...
