A Day In The Life

AOG Day 6

“Welcome, Everyone, to this morning’s event. We are here at the Water Venue, which was created specially for these AOG 2020 Games. It’s truly spectacular! My colleagues and I will do our best to describe what is happening as spectators are not currently allowed. The Covid-19 virus is something the AOG Committee takes very seriously and the health of all of our athletes is top priority. While we wait for our athletes to warmup let me explain the event. When the Shore Judge gives the signal, three flying insects will be released. The athlete has five seconds to take flight. Remember, these are biting insects so we’ll be watching the technique each athlete uses to avoid being hurt. If an insect is captured mid-flight, the athlete then flies to the Finish Line to stop the clock. The three competitors with the fastest times will move on to the next round. That - excuse me, Folks, it appears our first competitor is lined up at the Starting Gate. This Half-banded Male Toper is part of the Skimmer/Dragonfly Family. Let’s pause here so that we can all watch for the Judge’s signal together.”
