AOG: Pigeon Taekwondo

On Day 9 of the Alternative Olympic Games we’ve been thrilled by the pigeon taekwondo. This was the key move in the final where Polly managed to position herself so she had the higher ground on the roof and launched a perfect move, Pat had no defence.

News updates from this week’s action: From Day 7, Penny has now been awarded gold and received her medal today, you can see her on the podium in Extras. The judges examined the recording and it was clear that it wasn’t a false start. From Day 6 neither Toni nor Terri won, they were so focused on their battle that they didn’t notice Tara making up ground and she passed them in the final straight. The news from Day 4 isn’t good as Billy didn’t take his routine drug test, the papers slammed him with headlines like ‘Silly Billy’ and concern is now growing as he hasn’t been seen since.  And finally after reviewing the footage, the Brimstone on Day 3 was disqualified - shameful behaviour.

Day 147 / Full Day 139 of Lockdown / Day 37 of Step 3 (for my record only)
UK deaths up 8 to 46,574 with new daily cases up by 1,062, the first time new cases have been over 1k since June 25th. You can see the daily cases on a rolling average creeping up since the start of Step 3. Good to see Boris prioritising keeping schools open, kids have lost too much education already. Polls still suggest that only around half of people would be certain or very likely to get vaccinated against Covid-19 and 1 in 6 say they would definitely not get vaccinated - bizarre.
