Sundial

Well, the forecast thunder and lightning has not yet reached these parts, just a distant rumble which might have been thunder and a couple of heavy showers. In fact, after a misty morning the sun did break through so I nipped out to check the accuracy of my sundial.

Standing on a plinth of solid Lizard serpentine it stood for many years on the mantlepiece of my family home. It is only about 4 inches (10cm) high, the gnomon plate a mere 1¼ inches (3cm) across. I think it qualifies for the Tiny Tuesday Challenge. Thank you osuzanna for hosting.
