Another hot day in progress. 32C after lunch now.

We set off early this morning to have a walk in Sutton Park, to beat the heat which was predicted to rise to 30C+ this afternoon.
It was lovely to be walking by the pools which were as still as glass.
Then on the paths through the woodland. The ferns are waist high and beginning to wear early autumn colours.
Dappled sunlight filtering between overarching branches of huge beech trees, sycamore, oak and ash.
As we wended our way past one of the smaller pools, I noticed a couple sitting on a bench enjoying the peace and tranquility.
I took the photo.
It’s lunchtime and hot outside.
I put the washing out on our return.
It will dry in no time.
Last night around midnight there was a display of incredible sheet lightning, which made sleep impossible. I sat on the edge of the bed and watched through the window.
Heavy rain along with it. But it didn’t clear the humidity.
Now it will be siesta time after lunch till things cool down a little later on.
