The Wofflings Of A Doris

A quiet start to the morning was turned into full-scale get up and go mode! A text from Togger B to announce: Waxwings spotted in Hadfield NOW, meant I went from dressing gown to thrown together in yesterday's clothes off the floor in about 15 minutes, while simultaneously texting other Club members - never mind having a wash, it was action stations!

Picked up Togger T en route and met up with Togger B who had made sure the Waxies hadn't left the tree in the cul de sac - around 20 of them! Soon joined by Togger C.

It was a shame it was gloomy grey and they were high in the tree, but you have to work with what you have and, as with yesterday's kingfisher, had to heavily crop, but what a treat two days on the trot!

Followed the Waxies about for a while before finding they'd headed back to their original tree. A few more photos then home to process them so they didn't just look like silhouettes against the bright, grey sky.

When I got back I went looking for Lapwing in the field around the corner, unfortunately only one spotted (there'd been loads in there yesterday) and it was right in the middle of the field, will keep popping down.

For more Waxwings taken this morning and the lone, long distance Lapwing see my birds folder on Flickr
