Life through the lens...

Handel or Compassion?

Just had to be my Blip for Flower Friday.
I have had this climbing rose for a few years, and it has always struggled.
Don’t think it likes the spot where I planted it, which is a dark corner between the fence and the house. I wanted to brighten it up.
I’m sure it was called “ Compassion” but I have lost the tag. Anyhow looking through the rose catalogues I think it may be Handel.
What ever it is called it is really beautiful, and has a lovely perfume.

The carpet cleaner came at 9am this morning, so we got out of his way and went to Judy Woods for a walk.
No sun, and it so it seemed quite dark. Only met a few dog walkers and a family playing hide and seek.
It makes such a difference walking through there when the sun is shining.
After buying a couple of sandwiches from the Hungry Hippo again, we then went to Curry’s.
Had a look at the laptops as I really could do with a new one. Mine takes 15mins to warm up and has to be plugged in to the mains all the time as the battery has almost worn out.
Still not made a decision, but we did buy a new indoor aerial for the TV. The one we have is 50+ years old.
Came with our first TV which we rented from DER.
We have a Sky aerial, but sometimes watch programmes on Freeview as the sound is much better. Clearer and louder.

The carpet cleaner had finished by 12.30 but as the carpets were still damp we sat in the doorway and had lunch.
The sun then decided to come out and it certainly made a difference to the temperature.
Had a cuppa sat outside, and then did some dead heading.

Now just have to move furniture etc back into the lounge. Most of which is upstairs, or in the kitchen. Always difficult as we only have the one room downstairs, and the staircase goes up from there too, so the stairs and landing were cleaned at the same time.
Fortunately he managed without us moving the two settees, which is a good job as there was nowhere else to put them.
Must say he has done an excellent job. Certainly had some heavy machinery most of which stayed outside. It took him half an hour to load it all back into his van.
