A lily for flower Friday

Two years ago a friend visited Jersey with her daughter and brought back a lily bulb for herself, her daughter and me. This is the first time any of the three have flowered, we all usually just get leaves. I ignored mine through the summer and I think that’s the kick it needed (a period of drought). Needless to say my friend and her daughter are a bit gutted as both of theirs look dead.
My son and family had planned to drive across France from Switzerland next Friday to come to the U.K. for a week. The U.K. government instructions say they can still do that providing they don’t get out and mix with people. They would need to buy more fuel en route and go for a loo visit but there are ways and means. They really need to come over to secure their house in Lymington which the tenants should now have vacated fully and hopefully taken all their rubbish with them. Isolating for the duration would not be possible. There’s a chance of course that Switzerland may be put on the isolation list before they make it over.
