First sunflower to open.

I took Stephen to the hospital Treatment Centre this morning, for his colonoscopy, then came home for a bit of lunch.
(Photo of him going in, in extras)
I decided to take the photo of him as the first step on his way, hopefully, to having his next operation.
The nurse phoned me at 2.00pm to say he was ok and to pick him up at 3.00pm.
When I went back she escorted him to the doors and came out with him. She was a very cheerful nurse. I had a few words with her through the car window.
Stephen told me the doctor who was doing the procedure was the same who had been involved with his treatment in February.
He’d been very reassuring and told him he was going to do a gastroscopy as well, to save going back on 3rd September.
So Stephen had sedation in view of that.
We are back at home and going to have an early tea as his nibs had been nil by mouth for 12hrs before his visit.
I planted the sunflower earlier in the year and nurtured it. I loved the colour on the seed packet!
There are a few others to flower yet. All at various heights and stages, as I put some in a bit later then we had a really hot dry spell.
It will be a case of how long he will stay awake later, as I downloaded the Friday episode of the old “Vera” series to watch.
I got myself a can of Blackberry and Gin from M and S when I did a bit of shopping having dropped Stephen off this morning.
I’m behind with looking at Blips today but will catch up eventually.
We are to have a flying visitor from Bude in Cornwall tomorrow for lunch, as she is en route to stay with her daughter and family in Derbyshire.
And our son and his family are going to house sit for her which is lovely. They have not had a holiday since Bonnie was born last year in March.
And the house is big enough to accommodate all of them.
Her son and his wife are good friends of our Alan and Jen, all living in Bristol.
Time for tea.
