Two houseplants from the sale rack at the garden centre yesterday, a hibiscus - which reminds me of Mum - and a ----- flame, I can't remember it's full name.

The builder arrived at 8.30am and finished the work in the hall, taking most of the day. I pondered over the grey painted, overly fussy fire surround, I'm not sure whether to keep it or not. I'd like an oak, okay an oak veneer surround, and a decision has to be made. I didn't make it, but I will.

Later we had some rain, but not enough to be useful.
