Churros and Views

Padre Luís is here doing a course in thanatopraxia, look it up! No dead bodies turned up today, though, so we walked to look at Madrid's Almudena cathedral. Went across a very empty Plaza Mayor, never seen it like that, and stopped for churros and coffee on the way. Our waiter (and the photographer) turned out to be from Bragança in Portugal, though he's been here for 30 years. The cathedral was stunning, loved the colour appearing in amongst the white marble, and the Chapel of the Santíssimo was absolutely beautiful. I like the more modern feel; it was only consecrated in 1993.

This afternoon we walked down to Plaza de Cibeles and we treated the others to a caipirinha on the balcony you can see in my Blip here, way too expensive, but the views! see extra looking up the Gran Via, and wish I could put more...

Gratefuls:
- the beauty of the Cathedral
- taking my mask off when we eat
- this comfy, tiny flat - it is just like living in an IKEA display!
