A palette of feathers

A juvenile Ruby-Throated Hummingbird male with glorious colors even without his red gorget. When he matures he will be a flying paint palette of color. This fellow doesn't have any red feathers as yet and is more yellow green than his sparring partner. The other fellow is emerald green with one red neck feather. They fly like the Red Baron over us on the patio, it's a bit scary looking at those beaks head on.

Sampling the delights of the cardinal flower in our garden.

For the Record,
This day came in cool enough to throw open the windows and doors and hold off on the AC. It didn't last, but it was nice to sit out for a bit until a rain shower arrived, probably amounting to nothing.

All hands wary.
