Cosmos

Garden cosmos I grew from fresh seed,
And their feathery leaves do, indeed,
Make a glorious bed
For the pink, white and red
Cosmos flowers, where bumble bees feed.

I make no apology for blipping cosmos twice in one week - it's putting on such a wonderfully colourful display. It's the first time I've sowed cosmos seed, but shall certainly do so again. Also have some cut and lasting well in a vase. The more you cut, the more you get, as far as I know. (This one was in the pot that Storm Ellen didn't blow over in the night. The other pot is now wedged more securely upright, and its contents are undamaged.)

The limerick is just a bit of fun for Flower Friday. Thanks to Anni aka BikerBear for hosting the weekly challenge.

Today's also turned into Fish Friday as our favourite chippie is open again. First we've had for months (except for when visiting our daughter in Lincs): the cod was so tender and the chips were tasty if not quite what we expected: instead of traditional chubby chips, they were thin French fries. No manky leftovers to throw away, mind you!

Another day of nibbling away at the edges of our August 'spring' clean! Now ready for the weekend. Have a good one, blipmates!
