In the cabinet

Dad was very keen that I should keep a cabinet of Mom's where she had kept her treasures. I wasn't very keen really but I have kept it and added to it with a mixture of treasures belonging to Rob's family and me. Nothing of great value but treasures none the less, all with little stories. The little Limoges pieces for example tell of a young Rose saving her pocket money to buy her Mom something lovely. Then the enamels. When I went to see work in Bilston I discovered the old skills of local people making and decorating enamels. I found them very attractive. Most of the little animals were Rob's. I imagine a little boy perhaps not being very impressed with ornaments as presents...
