More Helichrysums

For the first time in ages we had a full English breakfast preceded by Bircher muesli with blackberries I picked first thing this morning.

A walk followed which involved picking a couple more kg of damsons from the trees on the golf course. We also saw a grass snake on the path with quickly shifted under cover. Great to see. Best season for damsons for a good few years. Picked yet more tomatoes then went to the allotment for more picking particularly raspberries which are prolific at the moment.

The dehydrator I’d ordered arrived today, so I’ll have to get going with that to see if it’s any better than the previous one which left a unpleasant taint on the food.

It’s Christopher’s birthday today so we had a FaceTime call to wish him all the very best. He has Landon this weekend so we were entertained by him for a good while. They’re off to the zoo later, they have a season ticket so enjoy going.

Another virtual get together early in the evening with the Scottish branch of Susan’s family in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Forres which consists of seven grandchildren. Time to get the dinner now

These Helichrysums are on the allotment, I posted some drying in the garage recently and said I’d post a blip of the living flower. They’re impressive blooms.
