Walking past without a sideways glance [L2D14]

This was meant to be the end of Auckland's Level 3 lockdown; 14 days. However, a young man in his 30s who has ended in ICU has caused anxiety about the extent of the community transmission. A genome analysis clearly links him with the big cluster which began this outbreak of infection. Yet his connection with any of those already identified cannot be established. As indeed the source of the cluster has not been identified. We are to remain in lockdown until midnight Sunday. That could be extended, I guess.

Our general election was set for 19 September. These hoardings are signs of the start of the campaigning, only for it to be stalled as the Prime Minister responded to concerns by postponing the election four weeks to 16 October. One or two of the signs have been damaged, but far fewer than in previous elections. Daughter J is working to help the Greens get a big party vote; needs to be over 5% to get members into parliament, unless the party has an electorate member elected. Chloe Swarbrick is the best placed to be elected in Auckland Central. After many years of being in Auckland Central, we are now in Mount Albert.
