The Lozarithm Lens

Abstract Thursday (Thursday 27th August 2020)

The theme for Abstract Thursday this week is "Home Made", and while this plate was manufactured for Habitat, the "customisation" is purely my own, as are the post-processing fartnarklings.

With thanks to Ingeborg for hosting.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Isley Brothers - Take Me In Your Arms (Rock Me A Little While) (completed 20 January 1968, Detroit MI)
To follow, probably something Motown as that's what I've been obsessively playing all week
Edit: One item that has stood out is this Holland-Dozier-Holland composition written for Martha and the Vandellas. A band track was prepared in 1964 but a vocal was never added. It was re-used for Kim Weston's version in 1965 and then again three years later for this version by the Isley Brothers, with bongos replacing a tambourine and a Hammond organ in place of the original piano. The single reached the US R&B Top 40 but didn't do too much otherwise, which is probably why my copy on a Big Hits & Hard to Find Classics UK compilation is its only appearance in my collection. I really enjoyed hearing it again. Its working title was Baby Don't Hurry, which is belied by the frenetic pace of the track.
