Out with the old, in with the new

A dull and wet day today, so a perfect day for finishing a jigsaw and starting a new one!

Day 166 / Full Day 158 of Lockdown / Day 56 of Step 3 (for my record only)
UK deaths up 9 to 41,486 (revised basis), with new daily cases up by 1,276 and 754 patients in hospital. The R rate remains at between 0.9-1.1 across the UK. The ONS infection survey report says that cases are levelling off in England with an estimated 2,200 new cases a day and 1 in 1,900 having the virus. The trend of infections is down in nearly all areas on the watchlist, which shows local lockdowns / restrictions are working. Some restrictions are to be lifted next week in certain parts of Greater Manchester, Lancashire and West Yorkshire, although some local politicians feel it's too soon. New daily cases in France are up 7,379 with 387 in intensive care, both numbers are rising.  In Germany the chancellor said the debt incurred by relief measures will not be fully repaid until 2058.
