Natural Perfection (and a gardener's treat)

Today I picked peas from the garden, to shell and eat directly. There is something very lovely about opening up a pea pod and seeing all those peas, packed together so neatly. Then pushing those peas out of the pod  into your hand, before popping them into your mouth for that delightful, slightly sweet, clean taste!
Whenever I do this I think a little about when I was a young boy, sitting in the sun with my grandmother, in her garden and doing exactly the same thing. Nowadays it seems you have to grow your own peas to enjoy this treat as nowhere near me sells peas in the pod.
