Quod oculus meus videt

Harvest Time

I haven't walked over local fields for a few weeks so was interested to see the changes that had taken place.  Firstly I couldn't get on to the local footpath, the plants had created an impenetrable thicket within a few short weeks.  Instead I headed down the road to the local bridle way, where I knew there was access onto the field where the footpath crossed.  Unfortunately, the normal access had been blocked up with old tree stumps; it took some careful balancing to overcome that barrier.

The local fields of barley have all been harvested, with the straw bales still waiting for collection and will hopefully make for good foreground detail if we get a sunrise or sunset of note in the near future.

One thing that is notable is the wetness of path surfaces.  We seem to be into an early autumn with some places already muddy.

Day Miles:  5.8 miles. Total Miles: 1,049.1 miles
