Askance

Worrying infection numbers over the last weeks led me to ask a fundamental question: Do we or do we not continue our face-to-face music sessions? Then, if we do, what changes need to be made to our Covid protocol to implement the new restrictions? Feedback was positive enough to continue, but with numbers reduced to four maximum (three households visiting) and more stringent behaviours in place.

Up until the last minute only three of us were going to meet today in my place, but then I got a text message from one of the guys who originally couldn't make it but now found he could. So we were four. It turned out to be a really good session, with lots of wonderful music on offer. Even the weather cooperated, staying dry and allowing us to sit outside afterwards to exchange pleasantries over a glass of wine.

The nasty pandemic has affected our plans to make a fuss about Beethoven by celebrating the 250th anniversary of his birth as we had planned this year. Some of his music was included today, which hopefully cheered him up a bit.
