Dragonfly

A common hawker. This was flying along a woodland track near Mugdock Country Park and I tried getting some flight shots to no avail. I did notice the tree stump and thought that the hawker might use it as a rest post so kept an eye on it and, sure enough, the dragonfly swooped down for a rest and I got my shot, even if not a flight one! The extra is of a common darter.
