Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

House on the Move

Seen on my walk…this floating home looks like it’s being towed to the Lake Union dry dock but I will try to find out more of it’s story tomorrow.  (can see the details so much better in large...)

More installation of the many parts of the new HVAC system.

Zoom Book Club… we talked about James Baldwin’s “The Fire Next Time”  (the biblical apocalypse after the flood;   seems apt.)..written in 1962 but oh so relevant (depressingly so) today.   We're all OK.

Then Fiona Tuesday (extra) who happily showed us on her iPad her new “school” in her room with all the new supplies, including the laptop from the school district, ( every student received one.  Every student does  not have access to internet)  notebooks pencils etc.  She has a new small desk they found on the street “for free” and a good chair and has decorated one wall with many of her people portraits and the desk with all her favorite things.  Not exactly like 5th grade would be in the school 2 blocks away.   It does seem Seattle Schools are making a more knowledgable effort now to have a “strong start:”    Time will tell won’t it.     She is still happily reading us her book…I love having someone read to me and it’s great practice for her.  We talked about the hikes she took with her family last week…not her favorite thing.  (How can this be?)

and that’s another day.
