Brambles in the blue

It's been a rather fraught day.

Since we returned from our holiday, Mr hazelh has been trying to track down the company responsible for one of the cables that stretches across the back of our building. It fell away from the wall above our spare bedroom window during the Edinburgh storm while we were away, and we have been at a loss to find anyone who will admit that it is theirs and agree to come and look at it. After another morning of frustration with chatbots, automated telephone systems and unanswered emails, Mr hazelh finally managed to tell a real person at BT that he considered the loose cable dangerous and - lo and behold - a man with a ladder came to fix it mid-afternoon.

Meanwhile my working day has been structured around four one-to-one online meetings. It's a while since I have 'seen' these four colleagues, and from my conversations with each one it is obvious that remote working is getting to us all.

I'm glad that I had time at lunch time to ride in the sunshine along the cycle path to Silverknowes, then home again via the Cramond esplanade and Newhaven. There are zillions of hedgerow brambles/blackberries ready for picking over the weekend, as blipped.

Exercise today: 11 mile bike ride.
