Lyde (Day 1948)

Last night, a new hoss arrived under cover of darkness. He was ushered into a field illuminated by car headlights and mobile phone torches, and once settled we left him to eat and sleep. First on the list of things to do this morning was a trip through to Stromness to check on him and make sure he still had a leg in each corner.
He is quite a nice guy, and will no doubt feature in future blips. I am still not quite sure how we have come to have four horses. I am fairly sure my beautiful wife assured me that we wouldn't have any more than one or two. It seems they just appear in the dark...
With the hoss duties out of the way, we headed home for coffee, a bit of a relax then lunch and a wander with the woofers at Lyde. The strong wind today has made it feel cold for the first time in a while.
Home briefly then out again to Stromness to move horses around and have a really short ride.
All in all, a horsey kind of a day.
