Smoke Gets In Your Eyes

I can't tell you too much about this or he will have to kill me. Suffice to say that I was passing a yard with old battered barns and I spotted an old Fordson tractor. Curiosity kicked in and I went through the gate. I called out a hello and was met by three old boys sitting by a camp fire chewing the fat. I explained why I was there (nosy with a camera).

As I looked around I realised that there were at least a dozen old tractors poking through bramble bushes and in sheds. The more I looked the more I saw. Plus chickens (see extra) weighing themselves on scales.

The proprietor chatted away and showed me round. He explained in great detail the merits and attributes of each tractor. But he was worried that any publicity might encourage others to come trying to steal tractor parts - he has experienced this before. Hence me not telling you where it is.

He was telling me about this one with its four big wheels and lorry engine. Then he started it up and Whoah! The noise and exhaust smoke. We were both enveloped in a blue cloud and squinted against the stinging fumes.

Eventually I managed to extricate myself and got on my way. But still without a group picture. One of them looked like a Zee Zee Top guitarist with a long white beard but he wasn't going to be persuaded. Perhaps next time.
