Very unexpectedly I spent almost five hours today absolutely gripped by the Glyndebourne production of Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg and well over three minutes reeling at the dreadful last three minutes. They showed why Hitler was such a Wagner fan and if I'd been producing the opera I'd have cut them.
Anyway, as you can tell, I didn't get out much.
