Worcester

We drove to Worcester this morning.  Emma and Andy are currently staying up there for the week so we thought we'd meet up for coffee.  The nearest main road was The Tything, we had taken a look down there whilst waiting for Emma.  It's a busy thoroughfare with interesting buildings on one side of the road and a variety of independent shops, cafes and pubs on the other.  We had a drink and lunch in the garden of one of these cafes, called Fred's.

After a nice lunch Emma went back as she was working and Ann and I took a walk round the racecourse to the river and along the promenade to the bridge.

On the way to The Tything we went under the main railway line which is built on a series of arches.  A lot of these arches have been converted into workplaces and eateries, such as  Burger Shop shown in the main photo.  Unfortunately this place and a cafe in one of the other arches are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

The extra is a shot of the arches.  Incidentally this photo could have been my entry for Mono Monday yesterday if (a) it had been in mono and (b) I had taken it yesterday (the theme was Over and Under)!
