Day 171 A bumper crop

The weather conditions in England seemed to have suited our grapevine this year and it does look rather splendid.  Unfortunately the grapes are not particularly nice to eat and there aren't enough to consider making wine.  Any other ideas gratefully received!
This morning we took Violet to school after her regular sleepover with us and we were pleased to see that a second gate had been opened to ease the awful bottleneck that was happening when parents left the school grounds: a one way system is in place, with a wide entry point and initially just a tiny pathway for everyone to exit.
This afternoon Mr MC had a golfing day which concluded in supper as well.  I'm not sure how such an event would fare from next Monday.  I expect that the golf part will be classed as an organised sporting event but the supper would go out the window.  I stayed at home and did nothing particular as frankly yesterday's announcement has depressed me.  I can't say that honestly my day to day life will alter ( although my two daughters are not happy about ruined plans for early October birthdays)  but somehow making the rules legally enforceable, conjures up images of a police state, a 'Kafkaesque nightmare' to quote someone else.  Some of you in other parts of the world find yourselves restricted in a different way, perhaps unable to leave the country or part of it that you live in, but within that location lives are lived more or less normally.  At the moment that sounds the more appealing option!  Oh well, whinge over, time to stiffen the upper lip and carry on now.
