Middleton Lakes (again)

Second Thursday in a row we've been to the RSPB reserve at Middleton Lakes.  Today we were meeting our friends Liz and Genny whom we haven't seen, other than on WhatsApp video, since lockdown started.

We had a nice chat and picnic lunch on one of the outside tables then went for a walk to the lakes.  Naturally I dawdled a little and took photos, though having woken up with a frozen shoulder it wasn't too easy lifting the camera.  We didn't see the egret or heron that were there last week, though the sole lapwing I blipped was still around.  There were three cormorants on the islands in the lake, this is one of them.

On the way back to the courtyard for a drink from the cafe we stopped by the RSPB tent and decided to become members after talking to the woman 'manning' the canvas stall.
