Goodnight Finlay

I was up and about early and Finlay was fussing - so we squeezed in one more short walk just after sunrise. We went along one of the footpaths we used frequently - the sunlight was just filtering through the clouds.

Our daughter arrived and Finlay had a short play in the garden and then she put our lovely boy to sleep. Much less stressful for him as he was at home with familiar faces about. We are devastated of course - despite having a few days together since his diagnosis.

Despite his physical disability - which, to be honest, didn’t really slow him down - we have walked thousands of miles together since we first met some six and a half years ago, just after surgery to remove his leg.

I like to think we gave him a good loving home after his dreadful start in life.

The house seems empty now, the first time in 20 years without at least one dog around.

I have added an extra with a selection of shots from the 'Finlay collection'
