Three of a kind

A beautiful, warm day, but very windy. So we abandoned plans to walk along the beach to Ross Point, and decided against a hill walk. Eventually, we settled on Holystone Woods, and very pleasant it was too. It's lovely mixed woodland, not too dense, and today there were hundreds of mushrooms of various sorts, including these fly agaric. Good views of the Simonside hills towards the end of the walk (extra).

Back in the car, MrM continued along the road from Holystone and in to the Otterburn ranges, where we parked on a verge to eat our picnic tea and admire the view.
