In Motion

I've heard it said that a long exposure should have something static that remains sharp. Why this should be I'm not exactly sure. But in this case I elected to show the reeds in motion, which they were, bobbing around with the movement of the water.

I experimented with shutter speed to see how much motion blur I wanted and how much smoothing out of the water worked for the image. I used a six stop filter for the slower speeds.

Evening out the exposure top and bottom and reducing clarity and vibrance was about all I adjusted. The orangey/yellow tone is from the setting sun.

I'm pretty happy with this one.
