Sparkling Sapphire Anniversary

Today is our Sapphire Wedding Anniversary - we're celebrating 45 years together.  We'd have liked to have celebrated with family, but the loss of civil liberties through political scaremongering prevents that. In 1948, the WHO defined health as follows: ‘Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or other physical impairment’.

I've been reading an open letter written by a number of doctors in Belgium. It is both reassuring in terms of people's fears over Covid-19, spread and perpetuated by the government and the media, and worrying in terms of how easily we have been persuaded to give up our freedom and succumb to unprecedented use of power over our lives. They are asking for Open Debate. Please do have a read.

We've had a lovely day, enhanced by receiving photos from our son and daughter who are spending the weekend together - which naturally includes delightful pictures of our grand-daughter and our grand-pug. Next best thing to being with them, is enjoying their time together vicariously.

We had a lovely walk and picked blackberries, with hot sun adding sparkle to both the fruit and my sapphire ring (not new today, but worn happily and, dare I say, appropriately)! In fact it's being a very sparkly day and we're going to open a bottle of sparkling wine shortly, too. Dinner is in the oven and smelling good ...

Thank you so much for all the lovely stars, hearts and comments on my yesterblip. I'm sure admirer would be pleased that many of us still enjoy being silly on Saturdays in Blipland. Thanks, again.
