A day in the life

By Shelling

Day out

I had a long nights sleep after the birthday party last night, not because I drank too much, I was driving so I didn’t drink hardly any alcohol, but I was tired after six hours of rather a loud sound rate among fifty people speaking danish in different ways. My danish is rather good but there is a large difference between speaking two or three together or having a background noise of everyone talking loudly at the same time.

The morning was spent helping my host a lady who is slightly disabled and needs help with practical things. Every time I arrive there is always one or two things she needs help with.

In the afternoon we made a car ride into the countryside. She is in the high risk group so she has spent a long time isolated in her home. We went to places she hadn’t been to for years and she could lose herself in memories. We finished off in the lovely old town of Præstø, ‘Priests island’, where we had a nice ice cream in the harbour overlooking the fjord in the gorgeous weather.
