Feels Like Autumn

The many days of intense smoke from the wildfires have brought an early autumn to many plants, or so it seems. Many of the plants in the garden have leaves that are turning yellow and dropping, most noticeably on the zonal geraniums.

The air was clear and cool today - a really lovely day which felt like the autumnal equinox (although it's really in 2 days). We went for our hike in the Arboretum this morning, which felt great after being indoors for days because of the wildfire smoke. The same phenomenon was evident there too. I was really struck by these gorgeous leaves - so much so that I forgot to take a photo of the name of the tree unfortunately. But I'll be there again on Thursday and will go looking for it.

It will be interesting to see how our plant life chooses to address autumn this year. More photos coming I am sure!

Hope you've all had lovely weekends!
