Cone or cup?

For the second Monday running, my old boss Jo has been so giddy to have face-to-face interactions with colleagues, that we’ve gone for ice cream in the sun at King’s College. We are amazed the college porters continue to condone casual loafing and consumption of dairy treats on this grass. Normally they give short shrift to anyone approaching the porters’ lodge. We assume with the upcoming start of the university term that it’ll be adiós to this very short-lived tradition.

Office days are proving more productive than days working from the house. In between spurts of work I discovered a cup left on someone’s desk since March. The contents were unspeakable and definitely posed more of a health hazard than Covid-19.

As I left the office a group of masked people were taking part in a socially distanced dance class using the large concourse area. The track they were using was Give Me The Night by George Benson. My first thought was that the world continues to go stark raving mad. Then I revised that to admire them for pursuing their interests in this strange Covid world.
