Jacobinia carnea

Mum was given a Jacobinia plant a few years ago by a mutual friend. A couple of years ago I brought it up here to overwinter in the greenhouse, taking some cuttings in the Spring to make a better shaped plant. Mum gets hers back each Summer potted on & ready to perform. I get two pots of cuttings, this is one of them. It's does'nt flower until late summer which is great. They are native to tropical to warm temperate regions of the Americas, India and Africa so very happy living in Devon.

A beautiful morning, livestock fed & watered, breakfast done, shower, laundry on the line, time to go walkabout with Jorgie. Back from our walk, load the car, change, next stop Chudleigh, drop off the baggage, then pick up Mum. Totnes is our destination. A surprise birthday lunch in a Tapas bar ..  £2.50 for 3 hours parking, a bargain. Lots of people in Totnes, its market day, not livestock, but just about everything else, including tarot readings on the pavement. Well it is Totnes!! We entered the tapas bar 5 minutes, Jill was already there, We have'nt seen each other since February. The table reserved for us was directly inside the front door which was open so rather chilly, Mum could'nt get up on the high stools, so I asked if there was a table with more comfortable seating. We had a lovely table upstairs, the sun shining through  the window. Perfect!! The birthday girl, 70 today, was predictably late. Finding parking in Totnes on market day is a nightmare. Lunch was very tasty, an interesting selection of dishes, plenty of choice, great service. It was lovely to catch up with friends.
I dropped Mum home. traffic hold ups everywhere, children coming out of school, Totnes, Chudleigh Knighton, & Chudleigh, plus an enormous earthmover on the move. I got back to base, fed Jorgie, gave Stan & Lucy their afternoon biscuit, then checked my phone. 3 missed calls & 2 voice mails. My 5pm appointment at Torbay hospital had been cancelled. My ENT consultant had gone home ill. Jorgie & I had a stroll up the lane, then it was time to pack my last bits & head home. Jorgiesmum & Jorgiesdad were on their way home.

Listening to radio one this morning, a listener had sent a sms saying they were on their way to The Eden Project ... "Is that the WW2 place in Yorkshire? " ...... He played the next track ...  "I'm getting lots of messages, apparently Eden Project is a garden centre in Cornwall". I've never heard The Eden Project referred to as a garden centre.

Thanks to BikerBear/Anni for hosting Flower Friday
