A windy day!

Or perhaps it should be described as hurricane like, because from our position in the summer house, Jon and I felt like we were in a remake of the wizard of oz all day. Luckily, the summerhouse stuck firm - but of course, it was built by skilled hands!

This was the tree that brushed the top of Mollie's car as she tried in vain to get home from Cromer this evening. Not in vain, as she did make it home eventually, but had to try several different routes, as did Jon when he drove Henry to work this morning and collected him this evening. Our lane is blocked in one direction, and severely hindered in the other. Mollie was quite stressed when she got in. Not at all nice weather to drive in.

Work was ok, but like my colleagues we are on a roller coaster of emotions, still trying to adapt and develop processes, whilst keeping on top of the regular work (of which there seems to be a lot more at the moment) with reduced staff, and those staff being people we haven't seen since March. Some days it doesn't feel like it's getting any easier. It will be easier when the staff numbers are back to normal, but for now it's quite tough and draining.

Speaking of staff, did anyone hear Vanessa Feltz at 6.30am talking to today's 'jolly good fellow' who was none other than Gary, one of my office colleagues? Gary is a twin and was ringing to wish his brother a happy birthday for today. It was a bright start to my day!

Since work finished at 5 I haven't done much. I have eaten a pizza, a wispa, a Cadburys caramel and washed it down with a gin and tonic.

It's been that kind of day!
