Robust

Folk often observe that colchicum flowers tend to flop.   While some forms are worse than others, the secret for success is to grow them in full sun.    Colchicum speciosum, the white form of it pictured today, is the most robust of all.  These flowers came through a blowy day this week when gusts up to forty miles an hour were forecast.   Extra pic for another angle on the flowers which are the size of a wine glass.

Ruth and I enjoyed a roast Sunday lunch - at lunch time this week!   After a lazy afternoon I did get a recent delivery of 23 lots of Crocus seed planted.  This evening I baked chocolate and banana muffins and Ruth has been crafting.   No plans for her to return to Birmingham yet :-)
